LAKOTA STORY CD's
David Little Elk is a Lakota from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. He is also a Lakota language, culture and spirituality teacher, and he gives seminars on Lakota Spirituality. He possesses an immense amount of knowledge and stories of his Lakota people. Thus, he has recorded several spoken word CD's, which have also been finalists in the Native American Music Awards in the recent past. Listed below are his current story CD releases. He is also currently recording new story CD's, so please come back soon to this page for the new releases.
 On this CD, David tells the COMPLETE story of the White Buffalo Calf Pipe. There are many different versions of this story. However, on this CD, David retells the ORIGINAL story of this most Sacred Pipe.

  This CD is titled WAMAKASKAN and contains two stories. The first story is on this CD about a turtle who wanted to fly like an eagle. This story is about the Lakota Perspective concerning Identity. This story is told entirely in the Lakota Language first, then followed by an English translation. This first story is found only in one book concerning Lakota Stories, which indicates how rare this story is.
The second story is about the Race around the Black Hills of South Dakota. This second story teaches about respect and care for all lifeforms. It is also about the consequences we will face, should we neglect our responsibilities to each other, as well as to all Creation.
